I’ve run into some money issues, and trying to make up that deficit has cut my internet time for taking extra hours at my current job, taking on extra side jobs, doing small writing commissions on deviantArt, and whatever the hell else I can do that’s legal to make up the remaining money.
So, for the time being, I’m going to be a little slow (likely until about the 1st of april) but I’ll still try and get on as much as possible.
Days and nights were at equals this summer. The excitement, which had seemingly lost its desire to Andromeda as she grew over the years, had blossomed back into her life because of one person. She was growing to be someone she’d never imagined. Kinder at heart, more loving, more empathic. She learned to accept that her family was indeed wrong about their prejudices and that the opportunities she’d missed out on far outweighed staying behind to live a reformed lifestyle.
Finally, he was free from the obligations of his job and Andromeda was free to visit him at last. They were meeting at the place of their unofficial first date. The cliff, where she had dragged him in hopes of persuading him to think that she was rather mad and that association with her, even the highest of pure blood girls, would be a stain on his reputation. Or rather, that he wouldn’t be able to handle her and eventually leave her alone. But he didn’t.
And because he hadn’t, she was here with him now. As always he had a narcissus flower in his hands. Her favorite flower, named after her baby sister, wrapped in a velvet ribbon. The ribbon glistened unnaturally and as she went to hug him, she took a double take. Upon closer observation, the thing that glistened was a diamond, held together by shining silver. She looked up at him without a word. “Ted..” She implored.
“Dont—” he said, cutting her off “Don’t say anything yet,” he bit his lip. Where was he supposed to begin this again? “I know…” he began, “I know we haven’t been together long. I know you have your obligations to your family. I know that. Just hear me out, ok?” Well, he had started, there was no turning back now. He untied the ring and, in the muggle fashion, got down on one knee.
“Andromeda Black. I can’t offer you much. I don’t have that big fancy house or all of that money. But I’ve been thinking to the future. About that conversation we’ve been avoiding? Your parents intend to match you with a pureblood male and the thought of it hurts more than I could possibly imagine. The thought of losing you to someone else, even if… No, especially if it is against your will kills me inside and I won’t have it,” he bit his lip, pausing for a moment to let it sink in. “I want to marry you. In a perfect world, maybe we could have waited. I’m… I’m putting a down payment on a house tomorrow. It’s small, but it’s a home. A home you could call yours. We could call ours. If you’ll have it… and have me,” he paused again.
“‘Dromeda,” he said finally, his heart racing and his hands shaking “Will you make me the happiest man alive and agree to be my wife?” he asked her, holding up the ring.

It was summer. Oh, the beautiful, lazy summer. A time for sun, fun, and best of all no homework. Not that Ted would have anymore ever, but his Andromeda would. Ted had started working, and he was working a lot, still living at home and saving all of his money over the summer. He’d gotten a second job as well, and had begun doing odd jobs in his spare time. That, along with some prize money he had won in a contest involving guessing the number of gumdrops in a bowl at Honeydukes was all leading up to this moment.
Today was one of Ted’s few free days these days, and Andromeda agreed to meet him out on the cliffs where they had once gone jumping all that time ago. He was a nervous man today. He doubted this was even the right move, considering that, in reality, they had not been together all that long. Still… She was going back to school soon. He had to ask her.
As she appeared there, he greeted her as he usually did these days; with a hug and a kiss and a white narcissus with a red bow. But this time, there was something different. This time there was a ring attached.
Ted as apollo
“Anything?” She grinned, chewing on her bottom lip in thought with a smirk upon her face. She would tease him, as was a natural trait for her. “I’m sure there is something. One on one, but that’s a given. Punishment, of course. And I doubt you’d want to spend hours with me.” She laughed, her eyes meeting his again. “I missed you.” She furrowed her eyebrows, smiling. “It’s very odd. How much I did.”
“Anything,” he said, smiling at her. His hand rested on her face, his thumb tracing small circles on her face. “Oh, no. That idea of spending hours with you is punishment enough! I can hardly fathom the thought of being trapped alone in a room with you for hours on end. It would be tooooorture,” he said, drawing out the last word. He winked at her.
“I missed you too, ‘Dromeda,” he said, kissing her again. “I think that maybe, just maybe, you’re starting to like me a little,” he said, smiling at her. “It was bound to happen sometime, what with all these little stolen moments we seem to get,” he said laughing.

She laughed softly, her toes curling at his voice and all the delight that was in from her playful games. “Oh absolutely. Ten points from Hufflepuff.” She smirked just as he turned around, savoring the small kiss and all the wonders it brought to her curdling and fluttering insides.
“Ten points from Hufflepuff for the ridiculous question.” She grinned and wrapped her arms around his neck, looking into his eyes closely, trying to memorize the contours of his features for those nights when she wondered what it would be like to sleep with him. Just sleep. Just feel free as she was growing into with him. “Never ask an old man his age. It’s awfully impolite.”
“My apologies, Professor. I’ll never ask such things again,” he rested his arms around her waist smiling “but twenty full points? Surely there is something I can do to earn those points back,” he said, smiling at her. “Isn’t there anything?” he said, smiling at her. He reached up a hand to brush the hair out of her face. He was toying with the idea of getting his hands on some polyjuice potion. Maybe then, disguised as random people, they could see each other by daylight for once.

Frustrated at the long week and it’s constant aggravation, the last few hours dragged out and tested her sanity just thinking about getting to leave all academic and formal family duties behind to see him.
It had become their official meeting place, the clearing in the forest. When she finally found him, his back to her and she wrapped her hands on his eyes, blinding him with her palms temporarily. “Guess who?” She smirked, the playful tone transpiring softly in his ear.
Ted had been lost in thought when Andromeda arrived, and had been a bit surprised when she had snuck up on him, covering his eyes. He chuckled slightly, and pretended to think. “Hmmm,” he mused. “It’s Professor Dumbledore,” he said, sounding resolute as he smiled. “I’m right, aren’t I?” he joked, smiling broadly. He whirled around and kissed her, saying “My, Professor, you look good in your old age. What is your secret?”

Saying that this relationship was easy was an outright lie. It was hard, simply because Ted was an affectionate person and he couldn’t really be affectionate with her in public. Sometimes he wondered if it was really real… But those little looks in the halls and the secret meetings kept him in reality and he was in awe. Seriously in awe.
Tonight they were going to hang out by the lake, snuggle under the cover of the stars while the castle slept. He couldn’t wait.
